ActiFry Maple Glazed Cinnamon
The last couple of years Christmas dinner has been moved from my parents place to ours. The meal isn’t 100% my job yet, but a lot of it is on me. My mum does the turkey (thank God), gravy and cranberry sauce. This year my brother was staying with us and he helped out too. But our greatest success which was a trial on Christmas day was carrots in the ActiFry. They were so good.
Since then I have made them several times and the kids eat them like they are french fries.
I peeled and cut 1-2 carrots per person into “sticks” (but you could just use a handful of baby carrots per person), put in a little butter, some cinnamon, curry powder, salt, pepper and maple syrup. Put it on for 20 minutes and out came perfection. Honestly they may have been the best carrots I have ever had – and no need to flip and turn and take up room in the oven.
They had a bit of caramelization, they were tender without being mushy and they had a sweet potato fries element to them that seemed to be a big hit at dinner. Not only that, but they were so easy, took up no oven room, and could easily be warmed up if they were finished before the rest of the meal. I say that’s a win, win, win.
This is a most delicious and yummy carrot recipe that will have your kids asking for more.
- 8 Carrots (or fill Actifry to max)
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 1/2 tsp salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp Maple Syrop
- Combine all ingredients into the ActiFry, turn on and set timer to 20-25 minutes depending on the thickness of your carrots and enjoy.
- This method can of course be used in the oven as well just line a baking sheet with parchment paper, just toss the carrots, oil and seasonings well. Put in the oven for 30-40 minutes (again it depends on the width of your carrots).
